Hopeless Ghosts

Hopeless Ghosts is an alternative rock band from Toronto, Canada, founded by singer and guitarist Kieran Ponsonby in 2016.

Their debut album, "Haunted" (2019), featured Chuck Keeping (Big Wreck) on drums, with the remaining instrumentation and vocals performed by Ponsonby himself. The album was also recorded and produced by Ponsonby and featured a raw, live recording style without the use of a click, with each track recorded in one continuous take. The album featured a blend of emo, alternative rock and post-grunge tones and stylistic approaches, and the single "Run and Hide" received some local radio play on college and university radio stations across Ontario, with an accompanying music video being released the same year.

After a several-year unofficial hiatus, Hopeless Ghosts released Haunted: Revisited in January of 2026. This EP contained three reimagined versions of songs from the first album, with an additional song simply titled "Welcome Back" kicking off the EP in a familiar fashion. The Revisited EP is described as "remixed and mastered versions of the songs with additional instrumentation and vocals added."

Additionally, Hopeless Ghosts released two new EPs in March of 2026: "Homesick," which featured three new original songs, and "Unreleased Demos," which contained a collection of raw, instrumental tracks.
